About
LaMarr

La Marr “Deuce” Lubin is a renowned vocalist and performer whose career spans platinum success, international stages, and Southern Soul acclaim.

His journey began with a chance encounter at Arden Mall, where PIC and ENDO of the emerging group D.R.S. were searching for a singer with a Jodeci-style edge. After initially hesitating, Deuce auditioned — and soon caught the attention of Eazy-E, widely known as “The Godfather of Gangsta Rap.”

In 1993, Deuce signed with Capitol Records as a member of D.R.S. The group’s breakout hit, Gangsta Lean (“This Is for My Homies”), topped Billboard R&B and pop charts in 1993 and 1994, earning platinum status and cementing its place as a hip-hop classic.

Beyond D.R.S., Deuce co-wrote “No More Love” for the soundtrack of Jason's Lyric, and contributed vocals to the platinum hit You Will Know, alongside legendary artists including D'Angelo, Brian McKnight, Boyz II Men, and Gerald Levert.

His versatility led to collaborations with Digital Underground and MC Hammer, as well as international performances with the Southern California show band Soulicious in London, Japan, and Amsterdam.

Transitioning into Southern Soul, Deuce built a powerful brand as “The Silky Southern Soul Singer,” with crowd favorites like:

  • “Put Your Ballot in My Box”

  • “Just Like That”

His acclaimed tribute honoring Teddy Pendergrass has further solidified his reputation as a dynamic entertainer capable of capturing the essence of soul’s golden era.

Today, Deuce is deeply immersed in producing his solo album, collaborating with accomplished producers while continuing to tour nationwide. From intimate Los Angeles clubs to standout performances at Vibrato Grill in Los Angeles, CA, his soulful blend of blues, gospel, R&B, jazz, and hip-hop continues to captivate audiences across generations.

Stay tuned — the next chapter of Deuce’s journey is just beginning.
